The Committee on Family Court (“COFC”) respectfully requests that the Court amend Rule 77 of the Arizona Rules of Family Law Procedure to clarify Rule 77(d)(2) which was adopted January 1, 2026. COFC also requests expedited consideration and the issuance of an emergency order.

    Filed: May 1, 2026

Would amend Rule 77(d)(2) of the Rules of Family Law Procedure to clarify that only the self-represented party may object to the court conducting direct examination of that party.
